How do I connect my Locals account to my Rumble account on Rumble?

||| Please note that at this time, connecting your account doesn't mean you will see content in both places if you are a paid supporter. However, we encourage users to connect for future features that will allow users to access benefits more seamlessly on both platforms. Creators should also connect if they want to promote their Locals community on their Rumble account/videos.

Connecting your Locals account on Rumble

Once you're logged in on Rumble (Rumble.com, not on the app), under the username drop down, click on the "Connect Your Locals account" option

Connect If you don't see this under the username drop down, that means you've already connected your account. To check, you can go to the connect page to see which account you connected to already.

Follow the connection flow:

A. If you have an existing Locals account with the same email as your current logged in Rumble account, the connection will be done automatically once you initiate the connect For example, if your Rumble account is myemail@email.com and your Locals account is also myemail@email.com - they will be connected

B. If you have an existing Locals account but it's under a different email (and the same email doesn't also exist on Locals), you will be prompted with a pop up, select the option to Login with your different Locals email by clicking the "Yes, connect acc

Sign Up/In with your Rumble Login

Locals will now require new users to sign up via Rumble using SSO. Any returning users can either sign in with their existing Locals credentials or login via their Rumble login. Single sign-on (SSO) is an authentication scheme that allows a user to log in with a single ID to any of several related, yet independent, software systems.

How do I create an account on Locals if I don't have a Rumble account?

Go to any of the sign up pages on Locals / app and click the button to Sign up with Rumble
You will be redirected to Rumble's login page, make sure you click Create one now! link at the bottom
Complete the sign up form
You will receive an email to verify your email address from Rumble. Open the email and click the link.
After clicking the link from your email, you will be directed to a page with a button "Continue to Locals" - click this button

How Much Does Locals Charge?

Locals Platform Fee

Locals charges a 10% platform fee per all subscription, one time transactions (not including Content+), and tips.

Locals charges a 20% platform fee per all one time Content+ transactions.

Credit Card Transaction Fees for US Based Creators

Locals uses Stripe and other Credit Card Processors for Credit Card processing for subscription and one time credit card payments. Stripe charges 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction. Our other payment processors charge a similar rate.

Credit Card Transaction Fees for non US Based Creators

For Creators outside the US, the Stripe fees vary by country. Stripe converts USD to the local currency when the funds are moved from the Creator’s Stripe account into their bank account.

3rd Party Transaction Fees

For transactions sourced from the Mobile App Stores and TV Stores, Apple, Google, Amazon, and Roku charge a transaction fee ranging from 15% to 30%. We apply the same fee that is imposed by the App store.

For Locals coins, Locals charges a transaction fee similar to Stripe per transaction. Read more about coins here.

Why did I get an error on the app while performing an action?

If you received an error while trying to perform an action on the app (such as posting a comment or trying to save a setting), it is usually one of two reasons.

Error message

Your internet connection is weak. Try switching to data if you are using WiFi or try going to an area with better internet connection before trying again.
The load on the system is temporarily high and may not have picked up the action at that instance. Try waiting a while before trying again.

If you continue getting this error and there is no issue with your internet and this happens continually for more than 24 hours, please contact us with the following information

App version (this can be found in the About App page under the Settings tab)
What device are you using (be specific with the model if possible)
What OS are you running (ex: iOS 14 / Android 12, etc)
Specify what action you were trying to perform and if it's happening on a specific community

In the meantime, you can try performing these actions on the community websites or locals.com.

What is a diamond badge?

A diamond badge is a special badge per community that supporters can earn once they have paid for supporter access for 365+ unique days in total AND have an active form of support at any given time in a community. The badge can be lost if lose your supporter access but you will earn it back the next time you support again. You will receive an email notification about this when you first earn the badge.

The badge is to show appreciation to supporters within a community who have been long time supporters.

| Please note that it is awarded per community meaning that if you have subscribed for longer than 365 days in Community A but not in Community B, you and others will only see this badge while you are in Community A.

What is Stripe?

Stripe is a technology company that securely processes online payments for internet businesses.

Creators are paid through their Stripe account whenever a supporter of the community subscribes. You can either create a Stripe account (or already have one) prior to connecting it to Locals or you can start the process through Locals.

This process can take around 10-15 minutes

What are some of the information that Stripe requires during the set up?

Your business name/address (You don't have to be a business to use Stripe. Simply sign up as a Sole Proprietor and enter your address)
Personal information such as legal name, email, DOB, home address, phone number, and last 4 digits of SSN
Government issued ID
Information about your business (if applicable including proof of credit card statements)
Your bank routing and account numbers (so Stripe knows where to send your money)
