What are content playlists?
If you want to organize the items in your content library, you can do so with Content Playlists. Playlists will allow you to curate sets of videos, podcasts, PDFs and articles so your supporters can consume them in a more serialized way.
The first step is to create a playlist. The easiest way is to go to the Content section and select "Playlists" from the drop down menu on the right. You will see an "Add Playlist" option appear on the left - click it.
You can only create playlists on your community website.
Once you click this, you'll be prompted to create a playlist
Select if the playlist is for videos, podcasts, PDFs or articles
Name of the playlist
Description of playlist (optional)
Custom thumbnail (optional) - if you don't add a custom thumbnail, the thumbnail will always show the most recent item you add to the playlist.
Once you've created a playlist, you can start adding items to that playlist. There are several ways to do this:
In the content section, select "All" from the drop down menu to view all your videos. Then, click the file settings (3 dots) for each item and you will see an option to Add to playlist. You can either add to an existing playlist or create a new one.
While publishing a post, you will see an option in the publication settings to add the video/podcast/PDF/article to a playlist. Again you can either add to an existing playlist or create a new one. Please note that in order to add to a playlist, you must have the "Add to content" toggle on.
On the newsfeed itself, click on the post settings (3 dots) for the post with your video/podcast/PDF/article and select add to playlist. Again you can either add to an existing playlist or create a new one. Please note that in order to add to a playlist, you must have the "Add to content" option on.
Once you've added and organized your playlists, your supporters will be able to access this view by going to the content section and selecting Playlists from the drop down menu . Playlists can be sorted by most recent/oldest creation date or by most views. The order of the content displayed in the playlists is based on publish date of the video/podcast/PDF/article.
You can also organize all of your video/podcast content in the Creator Admin in the Content Library tab.
Log into your Locals community
Go to the Community Admin panel (located under your username menu)
Go to Content Library on the left side menu
You can create playlists and add multiple videos/podcasts to playlists along with editing the settings for the videos/podcasts. You can also add thumbnails for your videos through this tool. Thumbnails for videos are normally taken from the first frame of the video. A custom thumbnail will overwrite this.
