How to join a live stream/live chat on the app

Who can participate in a live chat?

If a creator posts a live stream and makes it visible to all members, then all members can view the live stream and live chat, but only supporters can participate in the live chat. If the creator limits the live stream to supporters only, then free members can't watch or participate (for free members, the post will be locked and prompt them to support).

Note: For free members, there may be the option to pay a fee to have one-time access to the live chat, just for that particular session. However, this option is only available if the creator has one-time live chat admissions enabled in their community.

How to join a live stream/live chat

Launch the Locals app and go to the desired community newsfeed page (if you are in a different community, you can switch communities by tapping the icon on the top left). Tap "Click here to join."

Once you've joined, note the different icons on the screen when in full screen mode:

This shows how much time has elapsed and the amount of members viewing the livestream. Tap to see the list of usernames.
Tap the "x" to exit full screen mode
Tap the thumbs up icon to like the live stream video
Tap the speaker icon to mute/unmute the sound
Tap this chat icon to hide/show the chat overlay
Tap "..." to view a menu where you can choose to Share, Bookmark, Report or View likes for the live stream
Tap the chat box to leave a comment in the live chat
Tap the paper airplane icon to submit your comment
Tap the picture icon to upload an image that you can share to live chat (make sure you allow permission to your photos when prompted)

When not in full screen mode, you'll see most of the same options but in different locations. You'll also see 2 tabs, Comments and Chat. Tap the Comments tab to see/leave comments on the live stream video, that will show on the post in the newsfeed. Tap the Chat tab to view/participate in the current live chat. Tap the square on the bottom right corner to go into full screen mode.
