How do I create an account on Locals?
Go to Locals.com and click "Join." Then from the drop down menu, select "Members."
Then, click "Ge Started."
Enter your desired email address and create a password. Read and agree to the Terms of Service, and then click “Sign Up"
Next, you will be brought to a page that says:
Login to your email account, and open the email from Locals titled “Confirm your Email” and click “Verify Account.” This will bring you back to the Locals website to continue the account creation process.
Note: If you don’t see the confirmation email from Locals after checking your SPAM folder or resending, please contact us at support@locals.com
Enter your desired username. Your username will be your unique identifier and is the name other members will use to search for you on Locals. Username restrictions are as follows:
Must be 4 -16 characters
Only contain letters, numbers, dashes and underscores
Must have at least 1 letter
When finished, click continue.
Enter your birthday and click continue.
Note: Your birthday is not shared with anyone, it is simply to confirm that you are 13 or older.
Enter your Display Name. This is an optional name that you can create if you’d like to be known by
another name besides your username. If you want to choose a picture for your profile, click on “Change Photo” and you’ll be prompted to upload a photo saved on your computer or device. Then, click continue (or if you don’t want to set that up yet, skip this step and just click continue).
Next you will be prompted to enter your country and zip code, and choose whether you want this to display on your profile or not (you can also just leave these options blank for now). Click continue.
Next, you can (optionally) choose up to 5 categories that interest you, so that Locals can recommend Creators that you might want to follow. Click some topics or leave blank and click continue.
If you select any topics of interest, you’ll then be given a list of creators who have communities related to those topics, and the choice to follow them. Following them will allow their posts to show up on your personal newsfeed - called “My Newsfeed.” Click “follow” on any creator that catch your interest, and click “Finish”
Congratulations, you have successfully created an account on Locals! You are now free to browse the site and look for communities to join. After clicking “Finish”, you will be taken to your “My Newsfeed” page, located at Locals.com/feed. This is your personal newsfeed that will show the posts of anyone that you follow (creators or other members).
