How do I leave a post?

Who and where can I post?

Only supporters can leave posts or comments in communities that have them enabled. You can create posts on the community website (i.e. CommunityName.locals.com) or on the app.

How to leave a post?

Just above where the newsfeed starts, you will see a text box that says “share something with the community…” Start typing there to create a post.

Click “Add Content” if you would like to upload a photo, a podcast (audio), a video or start a poll.

Click on “Publication Settings” for some more options
You will see the option to control the visibility of your post. If you want your post to be visible to all members, then turn the switch off (it’s off by default). If you want your post to be visible to supporters only, toggle the switch on.
If post tipping is enabled in the community, you will also see the option to toggle it on or off here.
If you uploaded a video/podcast, you will see the choice to turn auto-submit on or off. This is for when content takes a long time to upload; you can turn this on so you can go do something else and we'll submit it for you once it finishes uploading (you will need to keep this tab open though).

Note: As a supporter you are limited to uploading video/audio clips with a maximum duration of 5 mins and less than 200 MBs in size. You can upload up to 10 images in one post.

Acceptable file types:

For video - mpeg, mp4, ogg, mov, webm, x-ms-wmv, x-flv, 3gpp, 3gpp2
For audio - mp3, mpeg4, wav, m4a
For images - png, jpg, gif (make sure gif files don't have too many frames)

Once you are finished with your post, click publish to post it to the newsfeed.
