How to moderate a live chat

Creators, admins and team members have the ability to moderate their live chats by removing chat messages or the offender from the chat.


To find these tools, you need to hover of the chat message you want to moderate and then click on the 3 dots (on the app, you need to long press the message for the options)

Time-out

This will disable the chat of the user you time out for a set amount of time.


You have the option to select the duration of the time-out

Users who have been timed-out will see a countdown of their duration

If you time-out someone by mistake or would like to end it earlier than you set it to, click on the 3 dots again and select "Remove Time-out"

You can also keep track of the users you've timed out easily by change your filter to "View Time Outs"

Block User

The is the same function of blocking a user in general. Users who have been blocked by the author of the live stream will be kicked out of the stream.

Please remember that if you block a user as a Creator, you are also effectively blocking them from the community.



Report

You may report a chat message for violating either Platform guidelines or Community guidelines. The reported message will be reviewed by either Locals (Platform violation) or community admin (Community violation) and can result in the message being deleted if it has been deemed to have violated the respective guidelines or the user can be blocked from the community. Delete

Admins can directly delete a message from the chat if they feel the need to.
