What is RSS and how do I use it?

RSS is a feed that can gather content from different websites/apps and allow you to access them in one place - typically a feeder app or podcast app.

If you would like to get an RSS link from Locals to use on other apps, follow the instructions to generate your RSS link.



Login to the community site of that community. (This page is not available on the app so make sure you open it on a browser)

Community sites are typically in this format: communityname.locals.com

If RSS is available for this community, you will see an RSS item on the left menu, click it

Once on the RSS page, click the big RSS link button to reveal your unique RSS link

Copy the link that is generated

Please note this link is unique for your account, do not share this link with other members. If you ever share the link by mistake, you can click the Generate New URL to disable the old link. Make sure you use the updated link on your RSS readers/podcast apps after

Paste that link to whatever RSS reader/app you are using

Note that if you lose supporter access, this link will no longer update new content in your RSS apps





Follow the instructions above to get your RSS link
Open Apple Podcast and under File, click Follow a Show by URL
Desktop Apple Podcast
Enter the RSS link you generated on Locals into the prompt and click Follow

The feed should show up under your Shows moving forward

Open Apple Podcast and click on the Library tab (3rd from the left on the bottom)
3a. If you've never added a show before, you will see an an empty page with the option to "Add a Show by URL", click this link

3b. If you have added shows before, you need to click the 3 dots in the top right corner to see the option to "Add a Show by URL"

Paste your RSS link from Locals into this box and click Follow
